Charred is an emotional piece based on pyrophobia. The fear of fire is symbolized by the use of a texture paste that simulates a fire ravaged surface. The scissors are cutting away the charred layer. Found objects are adhered to various textures in this mixed media sculpture on a dress form. 30” x 14”. Created in 2019.
